Posted on 05/02/202330/04/2023

PG 6994 was built on the 17th February 1930 at the Morris Motors Factory. The car was built as a two seat Tourer with dickey seat and on the 18th February it was painted in the original colours of Stone over Brown. The original registration mark was issued by Surrey County Council and the Morris was first registered on the 22nd March 1930. History with the Morris tells us the car was with its first owner in Purley, Surrey from 1930-1936 and the second owner in Woldingham, Surrey kept the car for 30 years. In 1966 it changed hands, staying in Surrey for a further 4 years before moving to Halifax, West Yorkshire where it stayed for 23 years from 1970 to 1993. Between 1993 and 1997 the Morris was in Burnley, Lancashire before selling in 1997 to my father. He kept the car until 2013 and spent a significant amount of money on restoration work.

Dad carried out significant restoration work and some upgrades over 16 years. The Morris has a reproduction Lucas DC4 coil ignition unit that cost £300, re-conditioning of the Lucas Dynamotor was carried out by specialists Wood Auto Supplies Ltd and new kingpins and bushes. The engine was rebuilt and the crank was re-ground, the block re-bored and the big ends re-metalled. The engine has also had new liners, new pistons, rings and the gearbox was dismantled and the first motion shaft re-bushed. The Morris has also had a new clutch release bearing, engine mountings and many other improvements.
